You may have seen I am hosting breastfeeding photo sessions and thought to yourself, “this is random.”
After seeing me share mainly birth photos for the last ten years as South Florida’s Birth Photographer, it may surprise you that my start in advocating for mothers actually came from breastfeeding before birth.

I bought my first camera in 2007 when I had wedding photography clients, engagement photo shoots, family photo sessions, and parties (bar mitzvahs, birthday parties, etc).
I loved taking photos to freeze moments in time but I wasn’t exactly sure what in particular I was passionate about.
I met a lot of mommies in Boca Raton when my first daughter was born almost 12 years ago.
While breastfeeding was so hard and painful for me and I almost didn’t make it through the first 6 weeks, but I had a very supportive family and friends.
I never imagined meeting mothers whose spouses, in-laws or friends weren’t supportive of them breastfeeding in front of them, what’s worse, I met dozens of mothers who did not have a single person in their life that supported them breastfeeding their child — ever.
I heard stories of ignorant, misinformed, hurtful comments made to mothers by their own families. I heard stories of difficulty and vulnerability.
In this, I found myself wanting to use my photography as a voice to advocate for breastfeeding to not be looked as something shameful or sexual or inappropriate, but as a part of nature, a sacrifice and commitment women make for their children.
Literal blood, sweat and tears to provide even an ounce for even the first week of baby’s life to sleepless nights comforting children with fevers or anxiety or both.
My origin story comes from providing a voice of resilience for mothers and their lives as being capable, powerful and very needed in a world where we’re often made to think we’re here at the behest of others.

When I decided to post breastfeeding photo sessions on my Facebook page in 2013, I lost nearly all 400 people who followed my business since I started photography in 2007.
In their place, I’ve gained all of you beautiful souls who find a common ground in the things we fight for.
May we continue to move boldly into our futures together on behalf of our children who deserve to witness their strong mothers.
Thank you to all the amazing mothers pictured in these photos ♥️
