I walked into Keith and Claudia's home this afternoon and it was like we had been forever friends. I feel so grateful and joyful to be invited into their family home to photograph baby girl during her tiniest and first moments earthside. Shortly after we sat on baby girl's nursery plush pink rug and talked about her birth. I was really excited to swaddle their sweet sweet girl, I love swaddling babies and mine are both too big for it now! And suddenly she was asleep on my shoulder. I am no expert newborn posing photographer, you guys know me, I love the raw natural candid documentary moments at home. But I had to seize this little moment with this little!

Everything changed about my photography when I gave birth to my first daughter. I realized the love I have for her is unparalleled in this world! Becoming a mother is so life changing. Motherhood brings with it so many challenges, but the beauty and love that comes pouring into our lives is truly something no one can ever see coming. It just floods our hearts suddenly one day and we are never the same after that moment. It is an honor to be a woman and a mother! Breastfeeding is such a special relationship we get the privilege of sharing with our little ones. It is not always easy, but it is always from the heart. I love each and every single one of my breastfeeding sessions.

Tiffany is a beautiful soul inside and out. She is an incredible mama who is so dedicated to her boys. We were pregnant together and attending some 'yoga birthing' classes together. It has been a truly special year for both of us. These images of her and her boys truly inspired me and filled my heart with joy. It is incredible that we as mamas as we prepare for our births and our new journeys parenting two children, how we can come together in support and love of one another.

When I am shooting... I hold up my camera to my right eye. I wait for something very particular before I click the shutter. It's not the moment where everyone is looking at my camera. It's not a perfect smile... I patiently stand (or squat) and wait to see "that look" that every mom gets... sooner or later during every shoot... that look that shows the fiery love a woman has for the children she gave life to. And then I snap it into a frozen record for all of time.
